Project Summary

Transparency is the future of music management, created with input from the electronic artists community. It is the one source of truth for repertoire and rights across AEI Group. AEI aimed to redesign and further expand the array of features the product delivers, ensuring continued growth and enhanced capabilities. Transparency is a complex product, with strong technical aspects.

Goals and Biggest Challenges

The main goal of Transparency was to transform a highly technical music rights management system into a product that feels clear, usable, and approachable for both internal teams and artists. Transparency acts as the single source of truth for catalogue and rights data across AEI’s ecosystem, so accuracy, scalability, and usability were all critical.

The biggest challenge was the product’s complexity. As a B2B and B2C platform, it involves intricate backend processes, large volumes of data, and multiple user roles with very different needs. Over the course of two years as a Product Designer, I worked closely with the product owner and developers to simplify complex workflows into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces, without compromising on functionality.

Another key challenge was giving the product a strong personality. Beyond usability, I focused on branding and visual language to ensure Transparency feels human and engaging, helping artists better connect with a tool that, by nature, is very technical. Seeing the platform now fully operational and in active use has been one of the most rewarding parts of this project.
